The Flyers Rookie Program is a six-week learn-to-play initiative for first-time youth hockey players that features FREE head-to-toe equipment for participants. Part of a National Hockey League-wide initiative in partnership with the National Hockey League Players’ Association, the Flyers Rookie Program aims to teach first-time players the basic skills of hockey while focusing on important “off-ice” skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and respect.

  • Helmet and gloves required. Full equipment recommended.

  • Private lesson instructors must contact the GM for coaching privileges. Coaches must have evidence of liability insurance on file with PIC. No exceptions.

We love introducing the community to ice skating for recreation, fitness, or to prep for hockey or figure skating.

Pre-registered participants who are new to the ice will have a brief small group lesson with one of our certified instructors. There will also be stations to try some hockey basics like shooting and passing (optional)

This event includes complimentary skate rental. We have limited loaner hockey equipment but helmets or protective gear are not available for rent. You are welcome to bring your own if you have it.

- 15 hours of ice time that includes individual skill work and small area game play.

- 3 off ice workouts (M,W,F) including off ice footwork and mental preparation drills.

  • New participants who want to take a shot at hockey in a judgment-free atmosphere.
  • Current Adult Foundry Learn to Play, Draft League, and C level players from PIC Adult League.

Skills Session: 1:00-1:40pm

  • Participants will be grouped by current skill level.
  • Hockey skating skills and stick handling.
  • Minimum hockey gloves & helmet required. Rental skates included.

Full-Ice Guided Scrimmage: 1:40-3:00pm

The Little Ducks Learn to Play Hockey Rookie Program offers FREE GEAR for first time players included with registration. GET IN THE GAME!

The largest co-ed adult learn to play hockey program in the U.S.A. This program is open to adults 18+ who have never played hockey. It will combine on-ice skills sessions with instructional games. During this program, participants will learn the fundamental skills of ice hockey, including how to skate if they’ve never done so before. In addition, they will get a chance to play the greatest game on Earth.

Have you just completed our Get in the Game program? Do you feel intimidated about joining your first adult league? The Novice Draft League is the place for you. This league is designed to introduce newer players to the wonderful game of hockey. Make a team with your friends, or our team will put you on the right team if you sign up individually. Become a part of the Novice Draft League and take your next step.

Level 1 - Scrimmage Intro: learn the basics of game play via guided scrimmaging. Thursdays only.

  • Open to participants who have completed Foundry Adult Learn to Play.

Level 2 - Instructional Game Play: gain knowledge and confidence by playing alongside the instructor during game play.

  • Open to participants who have completed Level 1 and/or Adult League (C) players with game experience. Sundays only.
